About Us

Jean Luc Théallet was born in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, in the south of France.

He graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Modernes in Paris.

After working for 20 years as a graphic designer, he turned to the sacred art of iconography in 1997. In 2003, he opened the boutique "L’Icône", located at 58 rue de la Grotte in Lourdes.

This shop is dedicated to religious antiques and offers a wide selection of rare and sacred objects:

Russian icons, statues, relics and reliquaries, liturgical vestments, ex-votos, and church silverware.

In 2012, together with his wife Christine, he opened a second store, “L’Ex Voto”, at 57 rue de la Grotte, later relocated in 2015 to 30 avenue Bernadette Soubirous, just steps away from the Sanctuary entrance (Saint Joseph Gate).

Exclusively in both stores, you will find unique reproductions of several sacred icons, all painted by Jean Luc Théallet himself:

  • Our Lady of Lourdes
  • The Apparition
  • Saint Bernadette
  • Our Lady Of Philerme (Order of Malta)

If you visit Lourdes, our entire team will be happy to welcome you.
